The winery ‘Gerações da Talha’ dates back to the middle of the 18th century. A project that was born to keep alive the genuine production of Vinho de Talha, a unique product brought by the Romans more than two millennia ago.
The winery is located in Vila de Frades, a small village in the heart of the Alentejo and considered the ‘capital’ of Talha wine. Here are the ruins of the Roman Villa of São Cucufate, where archaeological evidence has been discovered proving that the famous Vinho da Talha was brought by the Romans.
